What is The Legend of Zelda About?

The Legend of Zelda is one of Nintendo’s most popular franchises that revolves around the protagonist Link, who comes in quite a few different forms from a young boy to a young adult and not always the same individual ether. Typically, Link’s primary task is the rescuing of the beloved Princess Zelda from his most notorious nemesis Ganondorf, clad in the green Elvin garbs of the hero while wielding a Master Sword in one hand and his Hylian shield in the other.

Oddly enough, the title directly addresses the princess’ name regardless of the playable character and hero of the series, Link who would seem to be better referred to as legend or legendary. Although Link is legend, he more accurately plays a large part in a legend as opposed to being one. I believe the video game would have probably been more appropriately titled the Legend of Hyrule personally as Hyrule is the fantasy world where these video games take place, a world protected by the godess Hylia

The Legend in brief include three monumental characters who play a large role in the game series. First and foremost there is Link the hero of the story, Zelda the princess/damsel in distress, and Ganondorf the evil antagonist who has every intention to conquer hyrule and cover the world in darkness at the obvious cost of the Princess Zelda, the King, and the whole royal family who rightfully claim ruler ship of the realm and the great kingdom of Hyrule.

A key element to the Legend of Zelda is the relic known as the Triforce which is made up of three forces. The force of wisdom whose bearer is Zelda, the force of courage belonging to Link, and the force of power stolen by Ganondorf. These three powers placed together form the great triforce and is called the Ultimate Power.

The Legend of Zelda is an action adventure exploring game with a strong presence of puzzle solving and what you might call an accent of RPG. Although not technically considered an RPG the Zelda series has defiantly had an influence on the genre.
