The Re-Awakening of Link’s Awakening
To all you Zelda fans who have been anticipating the announcement of the next up coming Zelda game, your anticipation may seize, yes I know… only momentarily because as all true fans, we always anticipate the next of the next! Staying in the present though, we have officially gotten word of the next Zelda release to be expected soon in this wonderful year of 2019! Our next Zelda contestant is none other than a crisp, polished remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening!
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening holds a high place in the series and is cherished as one of the better installments by loyal players amounting to a round of applause and approval for this new upcoming remake.
Although I am certainly ecstatic about re-experiencing this beloved classic complete with a graphical overhaul from it’s initial retro version, I personally must admit that I am just a little bit bummed out about it not being a port of my all time favorite, The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker which I haven’t played since the long lost days of the Nintendo GameCube while missing the Wii U port as the system simply didn’t entice or interest me. maybe next time I suppose… here’s to hoping
Crisp Polished and Sculpted
in the new representation of The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening we won’t just see another remaster or enhanced edition, this time we are getting a total make over, transforming an 8-bit retro classic into a vivid 3D masterpiece.
The graphics have an awesome cartoon style taking on an appearance of clay like form, sort of feeling like the world itself was carefully sculpted from it. This includes it’s variety of both Mario, Kirby, and Zelda characters and enemies looking as cute and true to their original appearance as ever. Did you say Mario and Kirby!?! Yes, the first and only Zelda game to feature characters from those franchises or any franchise for that matter. From hand-held to hand-held
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening was originally released for the GameBoy back in 1993 and re-released for the GameBoy Color in 1998 packed with some extra bonus features. the game resurfaced yet again in 2011 for the Nintendo DS via the virtual console and now in 2019 will make a whole new appearance for the Nintendo Switch, which in essence is obviously a hand-held gaming device.
Not only was The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening the first Zelda game to be hand-held, it was aslo the best hand held game back in the day and now over 25 years later we get to re-experience it in a whole new awesome remade fashion on the Nintendo Switch.
It is clear to see that throughout the life span of this game it has been strictly a hand held game, holding true to this even up to it’s future release with of course the exception of being able to be played on the TV via the Nintendo Swich’s port. How sweet it will be to take this game to the big screen for the first time in all these years
